Thomas White

Tom White lives in New Hampshire, USA and was the initial Coordinator of Educational Outreach for the Cohen Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire for 24 years. In this role, he provided educational support, teacher training of hundreds of national and international educators, and was a popular speaker in schools and venues across New England and the U.S. He is an award-winning speaker and currently serves as a Board member of the Association of Holocaust Organizations having been elected by its international membership. Internationally recognized for work regarding the Holocaust and genocide he is dedicated to educating audiences about history, promoting understanding and preventing future atrocities. He has and continues to work with survivors of the Holocaust, Rwandan, Bosnian, and Cambodian genocides. He was named NEANH Champion of Human and Civil Rights, Peace Ambassador, Center of Peacebuilding from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and serves on the NH governor’s Commission for Holocaust and Genocide Studies. He served as historical consultant for the film An American Nurse at War, the film Telling Their Stories: NH Holocaust Survivors Speak Out, and

Kati Preston’s book called HIDDEN. He starred in the film HIDDEN—The Kati Preston Story

as a historian and was also a historical advisor for the film. He wrote the foreword for Tom Weisshaus’ Not a Victim: Tales of Survival in Nazi Budapest. Tom has participated as observer and facilitator in the Global Raphael Lemkin Seminar for Genocide Prevention at the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation in Oświęcim, Poland, the Annual Scholars’ Conference on the Holocaust and the Churches, and Lessons and Legacies Conferences at Northwestern University. He served on the Diocese of Manchester’s Interfaith and Ecumenical Council. Tom helped to pass a New Hampshire divestment bill targeting Sudan because of the Darfur genocide and helped pass both Genocide Awareness month and a Holocaust and genocide education mandate in New Hampshire. He organized an international response to the Lithuanian government’s targeting of three former Lithuanian partisans, including Rachel Margolis, author of A Partisan From Vilna and has provided consulting services for cities around the country facing antisemitism and hate. He is currently a lecturer and educational consultant.
